hi guy my boy got a fiesta 1.4 tdci it has developed a problem its lacking in power turbo not kicking in blowing black smoke out and has a sucking in air noise from rear of engine checked turbo pipes they fine no lights on dash either any ideas guys please thanks dean

 

Sounds like a boost leak.
Is the sucking noise all the time??

The black smoke is pointing at turbo. It the extra fuel that's normally injected when the charged air enters only now there is no extra air.

 

it could be the egr valve mate my brother has the same on a 54 plate 1.4tdci took egr valve off an it was minging you can buy a spray from halfords
