Default Wheel Nut Required Urgently

Does anyone have a wheel nut that I can borrow or purchase locally?

I lost one of my Muteki SR48 wheel nuts last night and I need to use the car on Monday so I am pretty much up diarrhoea drive without a paddle.

Or does anyone have a nice set of aftermarket wheel nuts that they want to sell?

Someone didn't tighten them up properly then. You don't just loose a wheel nut.

I did try a local factor but they didn't have the correct type as the seating angle was wrong.

That's not really fair Rich, as you are well aware wheel nuts can come lose at any time.

As part of the daily safety checks carried out on LGV/PCV vehicles isn't it required to check the security of the wheel nuts/bolts?

When any garage/tyre company removes the wheels of your car they either get you to sign the worksheet stating that the wheels should be checked for tightness within 30-50KM or they leave a label attached to your steering wheel/keys stating it as well.

We all are liable to check the safety of our cars, we all check oil, coolant and tyre pressures but how many of us actually check the wheel nuts for security?

Never had to sign a worksheet from a tyre fitter/garage. You are correct about lgv/pcv checks but to be totally honest I have never had a car wheel nut work loose. But who am I to say it won't happen.

Any amount here Ty if you still need.

My MOTT man noticed i was missing one the other day, god knows how long it's been missing!!

Subaru are overkill with 5 Studs, 4 is plenty, that extra nut on each wheel is some serious un-needed weight!!

Rob

Forgot to say, i can meet ypu halfway or summit if needed, youve done me plenty of erronds with things before i owe's you one back!!

Thanks Rob, I appreciate the offer but I've got one from Phil this evening.

This is the first time I've ever lost a wheel nut but there's always a first time for everything.

That's why I think probably happened, I wouldn't mind if they were a cheapy set or even an old set but they were brand new and moderately expensive.
