Default Sti 555 ECU, Different To An STi ECU?

Odd question sorry! A mate of mine who runs a local garage has an V2 STi 555 up for sale and just noticed some 'kind person' has just relieved him of the ECU from it
I'm confident a standard STi ECU will be fine, am i correct as i don't want him finally selling the car to blow up a few miles later
Dave.
Next question....does anyone have something suitable he can buy?

Hi Merv, it was stolen on Friday night, he's got CCTV but i don't think the quality of the film was that great
The upside was that it was a 'decent thief' who did unplug all the wires rather than cut them so that's a bonus!
The garage is KJM in Penpedairheol and the owners name is Kevin, if anyone were to know the 2 thieves i'm very sure he'd be only too keen to reward them in a very discreet maner
Dave.

W@nkers!! Can't leave anything alone these days! Ask around for anyone who has gone to garage with a fluffed ECU! They're specialist cars so may have gone to a specialist garage! But judging on the fact they've had to steal an ECU probably not!! scum bags mate!!

I've got a V5 ECU but it won't fit

as said cheap as chips on ebay.

Would of thought the maps would be the same on a V2 STI be it a 555 V ltd or standard STI, Just need the correct pin ECU.

Didn't think they'd be overly expensive, just goes to show the level some people will drop to just to save £50 Another lad down in the next village had his boot spoiler stolen the same night, i'm just glad i can lock away my cars in my secure unit!

Hi mate

Sorry to hear of your mates loss/theft, scumbags! hope they didnt damage the car getting in.

The V2 STI 555 has a specific ECU, the code on the cover of it is 6K, it is a FOUR plug ecu!! the actual map on this ecu is quite specific for this model too, personally i wouldnt advise buying any old 4 plug ecu as your'e likely to cook the engine.

I have seen one of these on ebay recently, £200

Hope this helps

Andy
