Engine possible problem
Guy's,
After breaking down twice this evening on the way home, I have managed to find the codes stored in the ECU.
one is number 11 ( Crankshaft sensor and number two being idle control solenoid.
My major one is number 11, could it be a case of just the sensor has failed at the age it is or can it be more serious and thinking something has gone wrong in timing wise and alter the system in away which is throwing the sensor out of wack.
Any help would be appreciated.
Matt

I havent taken the cover off just yet. When I broke down, I was parked up and the engine turned off, I went to restart it and it just kept turning over and wouldn't even try to start.
The only way I got it to start was to disconnect the battery and reset the ECU, once the engine was running, it would work okay though once you turned off the engine again it wouldnt restart.
The car itself was running fine, no misfiring, no spluttering, nothing at all.
Got me puzzled.
I'm just wondering if it would be worth squirting abit of WD40 on the connecter's incase they are slightly rusted.
