Anyone got a spare coil pack?
As above, i'm trying to trace the cause of what seems to be a miss. It happens when the car is under load, ie when i put my foot down hard. If i step the boost up slowly its fine but when i floor it, it misses. Tried changing the plugs today and that didn't make a difference, so i'm hoping it will be a weak coil pack. Its a 93 wrx, so has individual coil packs for each cylinder. If anybody has one they know to be working fine that i could have a lend of to try swapping them about, that would be great.

Cheers Ty. From some of the stuff i'm reading on here it may be a boost issue. Someone has mentioned to try the Nuetral Position Switch on the gearbox, sounds a bit bizzare to me but worth a shot maybe.

I've got 4 over at my unit and you'd be welcome to try one or two if that helps you out. I've had similar problems on a few RX7's lately and it's turned out to be the boost sensor, if you drive gently it'll drive through but push it hard and it'll miss........worth a try

Thanks for the reply Lee, hopefully shouldn't require a fuel cut defencer as its run fine in this state of tune until now, hoping its a coil pack.

Didn't have any luck with the coil packs Dave, they were the wrong ones. When i went to remove mine i realised they had only one screw fitting where as the ones you lent me had two. I'll give you a bell regarding dropping them back up to you. It may have to be sunday as they've just fitted trackers to the lorry, so won't be able to do it in work time.

Changed the fuel filter last year for a genuine Subaru one so shouldn't be that Ian. My bets are on a coil pack, but i've also got a spare MAF i can try swapping over.

From personal experience i've always found that even with an iffy coil pack if you changed the plugs it would run well for a while then the coil would damage it. Also. i've only found STi engines to have the coilpacks with just one bolt fitted, is yours an STi engine perhaps?
