Default Air Filter Help!!

What would you recommend a replacement panel Filter or an Induction Kit?

Am trying to plan a bit long term so i don't end up replacing it again in about 6 months.

Am changing the exhaust in the new year and am planning a Remap. Have already replaced the Fuel Pump.

Not looking to get major power just looking to get something which is still usable.

Have heard a few people recommend the K&N 57i induction kit and was planning to get it mapped by Bob Rawle who also recommends this set up.

Any suggestions/ help would be appreciated!!

The 57i seems a popular choice. When I bought my car it had a Blitz SUS induction kit fitted. I've since changed the Blitz filter for an equivalent K&N due to it's better filtration.

As Glenn said, Bob knows what works and what doesn't work after mapping countless Imprezas, go for the 57i

I have only just got back from having my S202 remapped by Bob and he has transformed my car.

I would take any recommendations from Bob as necessary or worthwhile as the man really knows his stuff and is a legend.

I have organised a group buy with Bob if you are interested, a chance to save some £'s off the normal mapping price.

The K&N RCM kit is nice and is also rated by Bob as well.

I have an APS CAK fitted on my Type R, again quality piece of kit with the bonus of drawing in cooler air from the inner wing. Again Bob rates these.

Always run your mods by your mapper to make sure its the right setup for your level of tune on your car.

Thanks guys for the steer. Will get something ordered this week.

Will have a look at the group buy but might not make it in time. Have a few more bits (Exhaust Etc) to source and fit yet

Thanks guys for the steer.

Have gone for the panel filter as i don't really plan going much over 350 bhp and after looking at Bobs website he states the standard box is OK for this power level.

Just go the exhaust to sort now in Jan then its off for the remap.

Anyone recommend a decent system at a good price. Anyone use Prospeed in Cardiff? or would and off the shelf system be best.

Looking to for a fuel decat system from the turbo back.

Id definately use Charlie up at Prospeed for the exhaust. Id say 90% of people on here use him Also you get a lifetime guarantee aswell. Plus then you can choose the sound and style you want.

Glenn I got 354bhp and Bob also sorted out a boost issue (somebody before had reversed the plumbing to the restrictor pill ) meaning I could only get 1bar boost, now I get 1.5 bar and the car is now like a rocket.

I am happy with the current figure, but what next?

Ported headers, up-pipe and a full 3" system plus a remap should yield some interesting results...

I know somebody with two, the trouble is that one of them is off a truck engine - massive lag when it finally spools up in about 3 weeks it would get a mahoosive surge.

Other than mentioning the headers and exhaust nothing really Glenn, I would hope for around 370bhp with them fitted and virtually no lag.

It is the 'standard' S202 system and is a 2.5" system, I assume that a 3" system would be better.

More than happy Kev TBH, it is a different car - even Bob was being thrown back in his seat when we did the Deltadash dyno runs.
