FULL MOTORSPORT W/E
NEATH VALLEY STAGES
Alarm goes off at 0430 on saturday morning and I was greated with the british summer outside, creaping round the house as not wanting to wake any one, coffee, and a bite to eat before leaving for the workshop to meet up with Andy, Carl, Rhys, to collect Van/trailer and head off for walters arena
I thought I was back in the Seventies! That persistent light rain, blown by a moderate wind! That lovely smell of Conifers mixed with the mud that only a forest track can smell of! Quiet, the only noise the rustling of the trees! you really feel at that moment in time that your all alone in this beautiful Country we live in.Then in the distance, comes the `growl` of a car reverberating and echoing as it makes it`s way towards you some 5 miles away! The noise gets louder and then disappears! The next time you hear it, it`s closer, and even more `angry`and the roar of that engine that is unmistakeable from a MK2 Escort! Then the ground starts to vibrate, as into view comes a broadside Marc Sollaway, just missing the pile of logs on the inside of the bend, accelerating into a tight right, with masses of opposite lock as he oversteers out of site! The smell, the adrenelin, the goose bumps, the cheer, the expectaion of the next one!! That is why i`m still crazy enough to stand for hours in the rain, in the middle of no-where to wintess that moment!!!!!!!!

As you can see in the photo`s the weather was stunning, next hillclimb and final round of the British championship is at Prescott on 5/6 Sept, well worth a look
