Default Tint removal.....a few tips.

I never really liked the blingey tint's on the car, so I decided to get them off.

To make things easy I got the hot air gun out and warmed the windows to get the adhesive nice and soft. Picked at the edge's, get a good section, grab it and pull gently and wooosh they pulled off easy peasey

Now I needed a few bits to help along the way, they are at least 500mls of methylated spirit (white spirit is too oily), scotch brite and a six pack of your favourite beverage (more on this later).

Now to make things easy soak the scotch brite in the meths and give the windows a quick scrub to break the surface of the adhesive. You will notice that the adhesive starts to go white, this is a good sign and indicates it's got hard and will now scotch brite off, more meths and a bit more scrubbing will get you on your way.

Once it's all cleaned off use a good glass cleaner to get rid of the meths

Right then what is the six pack for?

You should drink it while you watch some other sucker get the adhesive off because it's the biggest ****ing pain in the **** I have even come across and will never do it again.
3 ****ing hours of sticky residue and meths!

Quicker way ( and works with any adhesive on glass ).

Once the film is removed, spray with furniture polish, then use a stanley blade, held at about a 30 degree angle to the glass ( use a brand new blade so it doesnt catch and scratch the glass ), then just slide the blade across the glass, lifting the gunk from the polish and adhesive as you go.

You may need to go over the window a couple of times to get rid of all of it, but I've found this method is pretty quick and painless.

I'd did mine not long after getting my car. I hated them as I had only the two rear window's done so I thought it kinda made it look like a panel van
I used the same method as MikeCardiff but used Intensive tar/sticky stuff remover with a stanley blade and lot's of elbow grease. Worth it though
