Default Forester Pocket (for classic import)

Guys I know one of you will know this one, in a Type-r, with the double din unit if you want to drop a single din head unit in you can use the Forester pocket to fill in under, is that right ?? .... What's the part number for the bit needed.

Any pics please......

Just to add they have tried to fit it but there does not seem to be enough room for the pocket under or getting the surround on after.... what's the feelings on this one ?

Not sure on that but wondered if this might interest you. My friends my99 Impreza has a P1 centre console fitted that has a single din unit. He had to fit it after a thief stole his original console & stereo.

Si,

I fitted a single DIN stereo and a pocket underneath. The JDM's have a cage that secures both bits together and this fit to the inside at the back of the console. It is seperate to the console surround itself.

Are the UK versions different?

Si,

I'll pop my console off and post up some pics if you need them?

I had to buy the cage from Jap Performance Parts as it was missing. One of the previous owners had cut the console to fit the radio and pocket. This may be the problem your having.

I'll PM my mobile number

Thanks all, especially Silver Sport for putting up with my constant questions lol

But sorted it thanks to the post by Mikey in the Ice section.

Do still need a new console surround (seemed previous owner had snaped it and put it back together with glue and the extra pulling broke it) and some screws!

Here are the results:

Nothing is fixed in, well apart from the stereo to the cage and other half is going to fit a light behind the STi and sort it out so you can't see the wires.

Any help with my missing bits appreciated

As said the single din head unit and pocket mount on a JDM bracket,
I removed my pocket to fit my PSI unit but the same applied, it was all very easy.

In fact PSI use the OEM subaru pocket to fit the PSI unit in.
