Default MAff/Lambda

Hi, to test the above am I right to di-connect the Maff while car is idling and it should stop ?? and with the Lamb, can I disconnect this before a short run to see if my hesitation problem goes away ??

If you disconnect either the car will probably run like **** as the Engine Management hasn't got a clue to what's going on, so can't adjust the fuel mixture to suit.

The engine should die like John Wayne at the Alarmo if the MAF is OK.

Thanks BD - I take it if the car runs, then the Maff is stuffed ? and with the possible Lamda problem I have (hesitation under load/faltering under load and faltering sensation ? at cruising speed), if the lamda was temporarely dis-connected would any air/fuel sensing probs go while disconnected...................

If you have the old classic with single coil packs, these could also be a problem. If the lambda is faulty and giving false readings which could also cause your problems, the check engine light would come on.

It's an 03 registered bug eye WRX, my check engine light was on the other day, but has since gone out and didn't come back on today - altough there is still faltering..
