Being a curious bloke I think I may cure a potential problem.
When I got the Foggy it came fitted with the CAIK by Zeropsport.

Having had a very mild and wet summer the issue of heat and air flow has not been an issue. But, this could change, hence the cunning plan. The Foggy air box normally fits into the wing but inlike the Impreza ther is no air duct from above the radiator/headlight. The flow is from the OSF Brake Duct incorporated in the fog cover. When the box is removed the air ducting flows air into the bay from the end of the pipe on the inner wing in the engine bay and very little is flowed directly into the Cone of the CAIK. The engine bay air is hot and this is not good for performance
So, here is the plan.
I have priced the following bits up.
12v 102mm Motorsport ancillary fan
90' degree Stainless elbow pipe
Silicone Ducting
Adaptor end for the Ducting
Heat Shrink rap for the ducting
£100 plus postage or I may collect to save time.
I intend to shrink wrap the ducting to the back of the fogcover/Brake ducting, feed the hose through the inner wing. The ducting will shrink wrap to the elbow and the ancillary fan on the end. It should (fingers crossed) feed air to the engine and cone from outside whenever the ignition is on.
The bits should be here by next weekend so I'll need a bit of help from someone who can wire in the fan.
Offers of bacon butties and as much tea as you can drink still apply

I can sort the wiring if you want, you will need to find a feed for ignition on. Perhaps the radio or *** lighter? Another consideration, is if you want to install a relay or have the feed directly from the switced live.

I would go for a seperate switch inside the cabin so you can use it as and when you want or when weather dictates.
Just need to find a constant live and your away

I may get a rear Haeter switch from a Impreza as the Foggy one is incorporated in the centre switches. There are blank covers in the centre console by the hand brake which is next to the second cigarette lighter. Cheers Si.
Thanks for all the help so far. I am due to get the bits this week or may pop up on Thursday to Merlin Motorsport.
Got their catalogue at RallyDay. Good stuff and belting saving on hoses, clips and pipework compared to some sites and dealers.
So, wait out for Part 2.

Ok let's put this to the test, let me suggest three items and what would you make out of them in a life threatening situation....
One cube of Hubba Bubba chewing gum.
10 feet of blue bailing twine.
One flip flop (left foot)
How would that save your bacon in a dodgy situation surrounded by rebals in the black forest

Do you know if there are any sockets behind the blanking plates? You may be able to pickup a live from there.

When the enemy see the single flip flop (helded down by 1/2 the chewed Hubba Bubba) they will be lulled into the "where's the other one?" scenario
They will start looking and then be hit by the swinging log attached to the tree's by the blue bailing string.
This is released when the flip flop is lifted up and the sticking properties of the Hubba Bubba become detatched from the flip flop, releasing the spring trap (the other 1/2 of the Bubba roled in sand to look like a stone) attached to the swinging log. McGivers got nothing on me

No problems mate, I did a simular thing in my old car, I fitted an overide switch in the cabin to operate the coolling fan when I wanted.

Got the wheel arch liner off today and put the bits together. It all fits and the motor works a treat. I need to get it all fitted and wired in by an electrical bod! The only problem is the electric switches have not arrived yet!

Sounds like you have both been on the same training course
