Default INDUCTION KITS

Thinking of getting an induction kit for my 1997 import wrx to free up a bit more power, just wondering which would be the best to go for. Also would it be worth changing the maf sensor when i put the new air intake on

K&N on mine too.

To be honest your not going to get any benefit from doing this, we're running them because we have FMIC and you have to remove the standard air filter box.

The standard Air system with a decent panal filter is good for over 400BHP (Type 25 uses a panel filter)

Your best bet is to fit an STI/K&N or Green cotton panal filter (Not the Oiled ones like the ITG). No issues with broken MAFS, which WILL happen if using an induction kit. I get through one maf a year.

Save your money and buy something usefull like an uprated rear ARBm or solid Droplinks

Which FMIC Are you going to use? I can get you a good deal on a Hybrid one if you interested.

You can't go wrong with a K&N. Around £90.

Stay away from the the filters that use foam (HKS/PiperCross) as a filter. These seem to kill Mafs quicker than the cotton ones. Just ask Big Daz, he managed to kill 7 MAFS in less than 6 Month with his HKS induction kit.
