Unhappy Help needed

Got some bad news, problems with my car and wondering if anyone can help. Driving home from work yesterday and the check engine light came on though the car was running ok, or so I thought. it wont rev over around 3250rpm below this all seems ok, after this it seems to just have no power at all, there is no signs of smoke or anything wrong under the bonnet such as a loose pipe. Any help or advice would be gratefully received, cheers Ron wrx, oh its a 95 wrx.

I'm no expert at all on this but that could be safe mode running ?
Hopefully someone else may be able to help you more later.

connect the two black connectors at the base of the stearing wheel, this will run the ECU check, this will make the check engine light flash, a long flash counts as 10 and the shorts flashes count as 1 so two long flashes and then 3 short ones counts as 23, this will then indicate whats wrong, have a look on saxonfield
