Bump Steer Mod
Morning gents
just got off the phone to Powerstation regarding the fitting of my springs and then the alignment, They suggested that i should get the bump steer mod at the same time as the alignment, was wondering what your opinions were concerning the mod as ive heard some good and some bad points
, Powerstation want £240.00+VAT all in
Cheers

Many guys on here will back me up when I say Powerstation are one of the best outfits about.
The rack would probably fail because of age, not the work done. Most cars are fitted with mods some way down their age. The youngest Classics are now 6 years old, originals are now about 14 years old, so age is now an issue I believe.
You may want to consider this before you decide on any mods of any kind.

Theres been quite a few people who have had steering rack failer, even after a year, one had his rack replaced and it failed again a year later, one even failed during a mapping session and nearly ended up in the central armco!!!
Don't get me wrong, They really know there stuff, but the bump steer is only a couple of washer after all

Don't think i'd take the chance on it having read the thread about it, it was the guy who fitted a new steering rack and it failed in a year that really put me off.

As for the rack failing down to the bumpsteer mod - what a load of crap
its more than a couple of washers if its that simple try fitting it yourself
I think you'll there's more to it than that
I've had six imprezas and all bar one had it done, i'm still in touch with two of the people who bought cars from me and i've not heard of any problems
