Just been robbed of £450 for a 24 month service. UK car. Cost about £100 for oil alone. Will supply my own next time.

Another thing. Why do they always charge for screen wash even though it,s always kept full. Work it out. Service 10 cars a day, six days a week, 52 weeks a year.Thats about £4500 in their pockets for doing bugger all.
Just another case of rip off Britain I suppose.

So remember always ring around for prices to get the best deal. I myself, usually do as Im a tight git but this time I didn't and I got stung.

Mark, Some guys have all the luck. First the jacket then the service. Wish I had some of yours.
I know the wash is just a small amount but it just rubs the salt in doesn't it.
On top of that they noticed an oil leak so it has to go back in next Thurs. Good job I wont use their courtesy (HIRE)car otherwise it would have cost me an extra 30 quid for the two visits.

95p plus vat plus probably half an hour labour.. it's the principal of the thing.. if they are charging for stuff they haven't done.. what else have the not done or missed out!

edited for spelling!

Ahh Crusher. How the devil are you. You interested in the next meet?

The oils can be obtained anywhere really at a fraction of the cost that dealers charge you. As for where to take your car all you can do really is ring around. Try Tileys, Swansea etc. Mate rang around and found £100 price difference for the 24 month service.

Cheers

Bloody Hell Mark , just how do you do it. I just wish I had some of your luck.
Had to have an oil leak on gearbox done yesterday(fault of KP) and whilst driving home the Lamda Sensor went. Hows that for bad luck. Anyway all fixed now. Good job its under warranty.

I have just had my 18 month service done at CVC. Worked out to be £72 but I supplied my own oil. Still seems a lot for what they actually do.

For my 24 month service I was thinking of taking a run down to ScoobySport and having it serviced there. I know its a long way but I was planning on having a trip to London anyway and so can combine the two.

JDS
As scoobysport is not a franchised dealer how will this effect your warranty.

Heres a breakdown of my 24 mth service.

Oil filter 10.12
Sump washer 0.71
Oil 28.50
screen wash 0.95
Air filter 19.76
Fuel filter 32.65
Spark plug 42.88
Anti freeze 3.98
brake fluid 4.90
LSD Oil 19.95
Gear Oil 43.84
Gasket 1.18
Sundries 3.00
Disposal 2.50
Labour 3.5 171.50

Total inc VAT £454.05

What have other people paid for this service.
What are sundries? Anyone know?.As you can see I've paid over £100 for oil alone. Next time I'll supply it myself.

Chip.

Cool

Scoobysport state on their website that as they use subaru good practise and genuine parts their work is acceptable for the purpose of maintaining your warranty.

I'm also getting pi55ed off at main dealers charging for screenwash even though I top it up before I go in. Think I may attach a note to the filler cap next time!

The principle is what I meant. When you are paying hundreds for a service you don't really notice 95p but if every owner is paying extra (ie sundries) the dealers are gaining.

How much can I expect to pay for the 15k service ?

Car purchased from CVC and all servicing to date has been there. 7.5k service was about £100. No problems with servicing just a few
faults with the A/C installation and battery.

Cheers

James.
My 15000 mile service cost was 256.67. This includes the first year body service. This includes screen wash at 1.87 and white grease at 2.56. Anyone know what a seal stamp is. It cost me 7.50 +vat.
