Question To decat or not decat...?

Anyone running a Magnex decat centre (or similar) with the standard d/p?
If so what's the effect on the following:

1. noise levels
2. performance

basically is it worth bothering with this mod.?

That depends on if you are running the standard back-box or not? If you are then you will only notice a small difference, perhaps of around 3-5bhp. However if you have a performance bb (and that does not include a P1 or sti version) then you can expect to see as much as 15bhp.

I went for the full de-cat. Should put you to around 255 bhp and it will increase torque as well. All you need to pass the MOT then is the standard centre section.

As for noise, that again will depend on the back-box you have. But to be hinest it won't make much difference to the current volume, if any at all.

Matt.
