my UK scoob mods
hi guys next plan with the scoob now is a vf28 a set of headers and up pipe and a down pipe followed by a ecutek map.
I've emailed 3 arches re fitting my parts and I'm about to get in contact with indigo gt re fitting and mapping. do they do ecutek??I've also had contact from Duncan Graham re mapping a ecutek.
With the mods fitted could the car be driven easily say to a mapper from a garage or would it be best to trailer it from the garage to the mapper?

Cheers guys. Yeah I was hoping to drive completely off boost to the mapping session I just didn't want to sound dumb lol. Power station, I'll email them. I haven't thought of them.
I've just this second won rcm headers and up pipe so the parts are building nicely.
Just after a bell mouth two half inch down pipe and possibly v6 sti inter cooler and I'm away.
With the above spec I want do I need to buy a three port boost solenoid?

I would have a three port put on mate!! Also have you got an uprated fuel pump?? I would of thought it would be a good idea to put a uprated fuel pump in but dont hold me to that as im no expert lol

Yes I have the fuel pump. Three arches did it along with my timing belt and up rated oil pump last year. I knew I'd be upping power one day so did that.
Can the three port go on prior to mapping? What's the benefits? One on eBay now for 45 quid and I've found a down pipe. Good thing I get paid Monday lol.

3 port is a must in my eyes, better boost control and will help whoever maps it to get the best out of the car.
Fit when at the mappers, two minute job, simple swop.
440's will be fine unless you go further in the future, then change them.

Seems strange re power station. I know they've been about for a while I just wasn't sure they did much with scoobies.
I have read internet my scoob has 440 injectors as standard. Uk MY00.
Update; I've sourced all my bits last night on eBay. Just fitting and mapping now.

litchfields are still going not sure where exactly their shop is but are mainly doing GTR's etc in that rite Si!!
How is the GTR going these days??
I was up powerstation early this year for a map and they were fantastic!! a few others have used them this year too.
Who would you use now though? for me I would like to keep it getting mapped on the dyno, personal preference as its safer etc.

I've been in contact with Duncan. He uses scm remaps in cross hands as a base when he's mobile. He's there Saturday. He's there every 6 weeks about on Saturdays. So I'll arrange to meet him there hopefully when my bits are fitted. Yeah I've read a little on mapping and I too would prefer a rr. Safer etc..
Yeah si a safe drivable enjoyable 300 is the aim. I'd be over the moon.

Good to hear mate!!
Nahh I wont be getting my name down mate as looks like in the new year I'm going to be going it alone in carpentry and have to put a lot of time and focus on making a successful business fingers crossed!!
Mine is going really well thanks completely different car on track to on the road. Instead of having it detailed at the end of this year I opted to do a few different things like touch up underseal etc. I will Probably get it detailed just before the weather takes a turn for the better to get it looking nice for a few shows etc hopefully we get a tidy summer haha.
I do have one or two other little ideas in mind as in upping the bhp a touch currently 343 but would like to see around the 400's but do it in a way so it doesn't take it away from being a type20 and in a way devaluing it. So would keep the turbo, miltek, top mount etc touch wood its achievable. This is just an idea though and will see how things turn ut in the new year.

Would or have anyone use litchfield to have their scoob mapped as they dont really have much about it on their website. Mainly for 08 onwards models. Plus whats their costs compared to other reputable mapper??

You driving with a passenger examining or changing vehicle data is not illegal in any shape or form. Its no different to a passenger texting on their phone or having a mechanic sat in your passenger seat to diagnose a suspension rattle (unless the vehicle is obviously not road worthy). So road mapping rendering your insurance void is ehmm 'questionable'.
The speeds attained during road mapping is another matter...
Your insurers should be informed of any 'remaps'.
