ESL can be done by Indigo in Merthyr, Bob Rawle or Powerstation who are not far away. But be careful until the ESL is mapped and fitted.

What mod's have you had done?

Dont let Andy Stevens see that, he'll start quoting his tech specs and saying every other ECU in the world is rubbish

I would be very careful running it until you are ready for the remap.
How's the clutch, brakes and tyres?

It's parked up at the moment so only runs to move it now and then. Bugeye brakes (so iblv been told) clutch and tyres are virtually new

Indigo GT would be the best bet as they do ESL on an exchange basis with your current ECU and they map it there. Make sure you've uprated the fuel pump as well beforehand. From memory set a side around £750 for ESL fitted and mapped. As Trooper has said, more power is no good if you can't stop the car, suspension mods and a quality set of tyres can also be easily forgotten about which are more important. Hope this helps?

Excellent that's the info I needed. Yeah iv got a Walbro 255 fitted. It's got Bugeye calipers apparently if they are any better lol work well enough for me lol. I'm on the lookout for suspension too and she just had new tyres fitted all round so nearly there 😊

Also worth trying Duncan at Racedynamix, he is mobile for convenience.

If the calipers have the raised SUBARU letters then you have Bugeye/early Blobeye 4 pots. With decent pads, disc's and fluid they are pretty good for a Classic Keep an eye on the near side front pistons as they can seize (nearest to puddles and gutter crap) as they are only mild steeel. Stainless pistons are available and easy to fit.
The KYB shocks are pretty good and for the price hard to beat as long as you match decent springs, lowering a Scoob is only good if you want to compromise what the car is supposed to do. Don't be fooled by coilovers, especially cheap ones. Unless you have glass smooth roads the you may find them harsh.

Tyres are vital to your life, don't go cheap and fit cheap Ditchfinder or Linglong Death Rated tyres.

We could spend heaps of your hard earned but keep it honest, no eBay cheap sh*te and you should be OK.

I have to bqck up what Ian has said about coilovers. I was once convinced that coilovers was the way to go and after just 3 months I took them off and sold them. On the right road they certainly are fantastic but 95% of the roads in this country are crap and the coilovers are not compliant enough to deal with the lumps, bumps and pot holes. Plus there is the fact you will be in traction after a week with them on the car.

Good luck with the mods fella and just have fun driving the car😉
