***APEX large capacity aluminium radiators - latest design - direct drop in fit***
We have a batch of high quality aluminium radiators in stock for the 1992-2000 Classic GC8 Imprezas.
They are straight fit direct replacements for the original and are the latest design. We have tried various rads from various sources and none fit particularly well needing slam panels trimming and top expansion take offs too close to the top rad outlet and fouling so we had our own made to our design and specifications.
They have a 50mm thick core and are all aluminium.
£139.
If theres interest then we can consider a group buy.

Hmmmmm..... I'm interested!!!
I was looking at the one japspeed are selling for £110 delivered, but there seems to be some folk that have had issues fitting theirs.
If this is indeed a straight fir then this may be a better option.
What would we be looking at for a GB price Bren? Asuming we get some numbers.
Been involved in a few with ou in the past and always been spot on.
(BC coilovers, FMIC, hardrace engine mounts.......)

Is there any other advantages of going for an ali radiator other than weight saving?
Out of interest, what is the weight saving on this over the standard 1999 type r radiator?
Would i also be right to assume that these are more prone to stone chips etc or are they just as tough as the standard rad?
Thanks
Chris

Sorry for the late reply, wasnt here all last week so just got back to work.
I can do them at £109 delivered if we get 5+ orders.
We have gone through numerous poorly designed and badly fitting rads until we got sick of trying them and had them made to our design.
I havent weighed one against the OE rad so couldnt comment on weight comparisons.
The original rads are very prone to end tank failure, they split after time because the plastic fatigues. These are tougher than a standard rad. We have been selling our own rads for years now and the only failures we have seen have been due to people not securing electric fans to them properly. The fans move about and rub through the tubing.

We dont have them for the Newage yet but if these are popular then Ill have some made.
What we are waiitng on is some rubber or foam strips to include with the rad that you guys can run down the edges of the radiator where it meets the slam panel. The slam panel is sharp edges on the inside and Im concerned that it might wear through the rad where the rad touches.
To eliminate this possibility we will provide insulating foam/rubber self adhesive strips to protect the radiator. Its not a big problem but better to have it and not need it than not have it and spring a leak.
Do it properly or not at all, eh

Nothing yet. I believe he is going to start a thread for these in the GB section soon as he is happy with the product and everything that is needed to fit it correctly.
