Titanium Brake Lines from HEL Performance
We are pleased to announce that we are HEL's partner for the release of their Titanium brake line kits.
These kit will be available in the next couple of weeks and we are gauging interest for the orders for the release date.
Some information we've put together on the product:
HEL Performance are proud to announce another world first - high performance stainless steel braided brake line kits complete with Titanium fittings and Titanium banjo bolts. These offer a product which is 50% stronger but 50% lighter than steel fittings and banjo bolts and they are available for the first time in the world for cars. Stronger, Lighter - Faster....
Stainless Steel Banjo Bolt - 14g
Titanium Banjo Bolt - 4g
Characteristics of Titanium
-Titanium is as strong as steel - but 45% lighter.
-It is 60% heavier than aluminum - but twice as strong.
-Outstanding corrosion resistance
-Resistance to water
-Excellent erosion resistance
-Superior strength-to-weight ratios
-Non-magnetic
-Hypoallergenic
What's so good about Titanium anyway?
Titanium and its alloys have proven to be technically superior and cost-effective materials of construction for a wide variety of aerospace, industrial, marine and commercial applications. In North America, approximately 70% of the titanium consumed is utilized for aerospace applications. Titanium was at one time a metal that had little use and basically no one knew what to do with it. Even as late as 1946 when the metal was finally shown to be capable of being produced commercially, it was considered a "laboratory curiosity". Since that time, titanium has been shown to be a strong aluminum-like metal; light weight, non-corrosive, able to withstand temperature extremes (especially its high melting point, 1800 degrees C) and it has good strength (as strong as steel and twice as strong as aluminum). Titanium alloys have found many applications in hi-tech airplanes, missiles, space vehicles and even in surgical implants - And now for the first time anywhere in the world it is being used to offer complete Titanium brake line kits for motorcycles from HEL Performance.
Excellent Corrosion Resistance
Titanium is immune to corrosive attack by salt water or marine atmospheres. Perfect for on the UK roads where salt is put down every winter. It also exhibits exceptional resistance to a broad range of acids, alkalis, natural waters and industrial chemicals.
Superior Erosion Resistance
Titanium offers superior resistance to erosion, cavitation or impingement attack. Titanium is at least twenty times more erosion resistant than the copper nickel alloys.
Superior Strength-to-Weight Ratios
The densities of titanium-based alloys range between 0.160 Lb/in3 (4.43 gm/cm3) and 0.175 Lb/in3 (4.85 gm/cm3). Yield strengths range from 25,000 psi (172 MPa) commercially pure (CP) Grade 1 to above 200,000 psi (1380 MPa) for heat treated beta alloys. The combination of high strength and low density results in exceptionally favorable strength to weight ratios for titanium based alloys. These ratios for titanium based alloys are superior to almost all other metals.
HEL Performance Titanium - Stop. Losing Weight.
