Title: Technical Sales

Current skills/personnel gap:

Availability of competent person to answer telephone/email/walk-in enquiries of a technical nature.
Availability of person to make sales and bookings from above enquiries.
Availability of person to source new customers and sales via media such as bulletin boards.
Availability of a knowledgeable person to source and order parts and negotiate with suppliers.
Availability of a person confident and able to specify jobs in detail (for example engine builds) and to create associated estimates and invoices.

Summary of job

Effective liaison with new and existing customers via telephone, email and face-to-face – offering advice/knowledge, technical support and sales.
Responsible for ensuring that parts are sourced cost and time-effectively.
Responsible for ensuring that work is booked in to the diary and scheduled to the workshop appropriately.
Responsible for ensuring that all work is specified to a high standard and appropriate to the needs of the customer.
Input in to the marketing strategy of the company – for example, specifying what and where to advertise, what to feature on website etc.
Input in to the production of marketing materials for the company.
In the absence of both X and X (owners), responsible for the daily operation of the business in conjunction with lead Technician, X.
Responsible for ensuring that the premises are a safe and effective place of work.
