PolarPerformance 1993-1996 ECU Chip Upgrade 30% Off
For a limited run and in order for me to attempt to hit some financial targets I can now offer the Polar Performance Single Chip ECU Upgrade using genuine Fujitsu 27C1028 devices at a 30% Discount.
PolarPerformance Website Price is £195 inc P&P
These can now be supplied at £150 inc P&P for a limited run.
What does it do ?
Boost raised to 16.11psi approx – Standard boost pressure is 11.47psi (UK and Pre Sept 1994 WRX), 12.7psi (Post Sept 1994 WRX) and 13.64psi (STi).(Setting the boost any higher can cause overboost/fuel-cut and Map Sensor Error Codes, due to limitation of the standard map sensor)
Boost Control improved - As well as the boost target being set at 16.11psi, the boost control is also modified to bring boost in earlier
Fuel / Ignition Timing adjusted - these have been adjusted taking into account the increased boost. Plus it allows you to use regular Super Unleaded fuel of 97 RON rather then trying to emulate the 100 RON fuel (available in Japan) with octane booster
Fuel cut safety mechanism retained - Although this limit has been raised from approx 14psi to 18spi.
Speed Limiter removed - All imported WRX ans STi have a 112mph limiter programmed into the ECU map. This has been raised to 175mph.
Performance - Dependant on application and any other modification i.e exhaust/filter, this chip should boost performance to anything between 275 - 310BHP depending on Spec/Model and overall health of vehicle.
Maps Available for :
1993 - 1996 UK Impreza Turbo Saloon & Wagon
1993 - 1996 Impreza GT (Euro Spec)
1993 - 1994 WRX & WRX RA Saloon (240ps Spec)
1994 - 1996 WRX & WRX RA Saloon (260ps Spec)
1993 - 1996 WRX Wagon (220ps Spec)
1993 - 1996 WRX Auto
1993 - 1996 STi 1, 2 and RA (280ps Spec)
Note : This offer and these chips are only suitable for modifications that 'DO NOT' include Injector upgrades, Turbo Upgrades or mapping beyond 1.1bar.
However, all of these modifications can be accomodated using the ESL Live mapping option, which is detailed further on the PolarPerformance website.

Will this chip be suitable for my scooby, with the engine mods ive got on it.
HKS Front Mounted Intercooler with Hardpipe kit
HKS super drager exhaust
HKS Front Mounted oil cooler
APEXI IHI TURBO RHF5
APEXI Induction kit
APEXI Dump Valve
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
Dawes (a genuine one)
Dyna-batt lightweight dry cell car battery
Ive havent looked at my ecu, but im guessing ive got a z4 or a 6k ecu. Is it a solder in job?

Be very wary of the Mines ECU. I know of a few that have come to me after Mines has caused Damage. One guy had actually rebuilt his engine twice while running a mines. AFAIK he's still running several years later on my solution.
FYI I ripped a Zerosports Image out at the weekend. Boost limit max'd at 1.3bar (above the reading range of the MAP Sensor).
Boost Target was 1.7bar, 0.5bar above the Boost Limit (not sure how they expect that one to work)
Boost Control only had every other row of the 8x8 Grid changed and the duty was quite low, so I only expect the duty to allow around 1 bar despite what was set in the Boost Target Map.
Fuelling had marginal leaning but Ignition had on average been advanced 2-4 degree's at the top.
Overall a very strange Map........ and probably not in full control of all that goes on.

Hi Scott
Could additional gains be made from the PP chip by fitting an FPR, and if so how much higher would you say is safe to go above the standard 3bar? (assuming uprated fuel pump already fitted, and choice of either 380cc or 440cc injectors).
thanks
Mark
Edit:
Just realized thow old this thread was before it got bumped. I doubt the offer's still open, but still interested in an answer to my question
