A few of you have asked about cancellation

Here is the policy

If we are informed of the cancellation 10 working days or more prior to the event and are able to refill the place 25% of the booking will be retained to cover admin and banking charges.

We ask 10 working days notice so we are able to give any reserves a fair amount of notice.

Hi mate, can you tell me whats so special about this Track day?

Track days at Brands are for example I'm going next week for £139.(and yes it's OPL) and thats without any 'so called' discount!

So why is this one £169..... and even £149 if you pay £35 to join SIDC or £40 MLR etc!

I would join in, but want to know why the heavier cost when it is generally a lot cheaper when clubs block book a day, and in this case it's actually more money!

Thanks

On a normal track day you have to take a chance on who/what is out there with you.

On the SIDC days you are out with fellow club members, who tend to have a lot more respect for each other. You'll also get more track time, as the SIDC/MLR are less overcrowed, and there are also instructors available all day.

Personally i'd always pay a bit extra for a club day rather than a normal track day.

Thanks for the reply guys,

Not an arguement but I dissagree...

I do quite a lot of Track days,

With regard to your points,
Firstly professional instructors are always there on hand at Brands and cost the same as what you are offering so no bonus there!
2nd, More Track time???? It's open pit format and Track time is dictated by basically yourself, does Subaru/Mitsubitshi drivers only do 1 or 2 laps compared to other marques doing more?
All Track days have limited numbers and is also Marshall controlled by how many goes out on Track at the same time.

To add to this, I have done Brands twice in the last 2 months and 1 day there were 21 cars total and the next event had 28 total.
But again this does not matter because of the points I raised previously above.

3rd point, regards to 'other members having more respect for each other'.. sorry I don't buy that....
It's a Track day and track day rules apply(no need to explain them as I am sure you must know).
Most times (and I will single out Brands here as I have done it often enough), always at least 50% of the cars there on track were above the £50K value mark!
I have not been to a Track day and felt in Danger from another driver, it's a Track day and it is understood that there will be a mixed bag of cars and drivers there and precautions are the same regardless if the guy drives a £2K Impreza or a £100K GT3.

Actually funny enough, I have been to a Track day and felt at risk.. yes it was a Club Track day actually...
The Club Track days actually bring out the timid/novice ones that have never done this and then do it for the first time because of 'the other members gobble'.. and no offence but these are the ones that are a Hazard on the Track when they go out for the first time and let loose because of the lack of experience!

Do not take this the wrong way with what I am saying, I am just stating the facts from a fair bit of personal experience.

What you could of told me and I would of understood, was the fact of having all very similar car types together on the Track at the same time.
This will be indeed a very good point as you can compare 'like for like' , compare similar specs.... Much better than trying it on with a RWD Supra or M3 etc, which is just not the same...

For this reason it is usually a really fun day with the same car types together.

Again no offence, just wanted to understand the reason for the pricing, as I said it is generally cheaper when Clubs block book!

Regards

In the nicest way (so don't take offence) don't do the SIDC day then.

These days have been running for many years now, and are always pretty much full. Almost everyone who attends them are track day regulars, and have no problems at all with the pricing.

The SIDC and MLR days attract a massive amount of interest from their members, so they must be doing it right.

If you don't agree pop down for the day and see how it is run, you'd probably be very impressed and understand why they are so popular.

(GARY), Obviously you have not taken into context what I said...

I am not knocking 'the event' or what it stands for.. neither moaning about the price.....

What I am telling you is I am in the loop with these events, know the score and the general cost.
Hence why I asked whats special/different about this for the extra petrol money.
I was not given a reasonable answer, hence my correction.

No doubt it is a fun day out, but most Track days are... (sarcastic hat on) as for being popular, it's not getting filled is it.

Regards

Like the 2 popular ones you did recently were (sarcastic hat here aswell)

I don't think i missed your point. If you haven't attended one of the SIDC/MLR days it is hard for you to comment, you just have your opinion, which i understand, but disagree with.

They may cost more than normal 'turn up and drive' days, but lots of people (many club members) prefer this.
I have done track days (at Brands. not through the club) where i have been waiting for 20 minutes to go out as there are too amny cars on track. Have never had this on a club day.

On the subject of extra cost, i don't actually know that Motorvision do offer a big discount for exclusive use. You seem to know more, so could maybe contact them and clarify this point. (that sarcastic hat is still on)

I don't organise these days so can't answer you on the price issue. Like you i have done many track days, both club organised and track organised, and like Budgie, i always prefer the club ones, even if they do cos a few £ more.

Again that is just my opinion. Not looking for an arguement about it, just (like you) saying how i see it.

Stop bitching and tell me how I pay for the day.
I'm not a member of SIDC how much discount do I get if I join.
It will be my first Trackday so I will need looking after.
