Anyone going to Bedford on the 4th Feb
Is anyone out there going to a track days event on the 4th Feb. I will be doing my first track day and wouldn't mind being shown the way round.
What are the facilities like. Has anyone taken kids along to watch?? or would they be too far from the action?
How much tyre wear can I expect on the day, should I take a spare set with me??
Any tips on prep would be appreciated.
Cheers

I think a few people are going. There is a post in General Chat about track day tips - maybe if you do a search your will get your answer's.
I did 55 laps off Donnington once, then went on to do 7000 road miles on a set of tyres. I did need new discs and pads though
I recomend an oil change before hand, and also do a search for track day insurance. It is better to be safe than sorry. Make sure you have a full tank of gas - it does go quickly

Thanks for the tips Andy.
I have been trawling the forums for tips and got some good ones especially how to get out of oversteer over correction.
I am going to change the oil and filter and as far as the brakes go I'm fitting braided hoses changing all the fluid to DOT 5.1 and fitting ferrodo 2500 pads, the discs will have to do for now.
I still haven't managed to find a cheap set of tyres for the day though so my road ones may need to last.
Looking forward to seeing what the subaru can really do
Cheers

re kids, iirc no one under 16 allowed on site? Also, tbh, I don't think kids would enjoy the day unless they are car mad & Bedford is not really set up for spectators.

For a first track day that was brilliant, I am even more in awe of the Subaru than before, you can push it so hard through the corners and it seemed to be quite tame on the limit, as long as you keep it nailed.
Brakes lasted well, spares tyres were melted but ok but we could only manage about 4 hard laps before it felt like we were loosing power. Seemed ok once the car had rested for 15mins or so, so I put it down to heat soak. Looks like I'll need to start doing the odd little change to the engine.....what have we started!!!!!

yep, I was surprised just how quick they where, thought it was me. We had a good session following 4 of them towards the end and I recon we where a little quicker then but not by much!

I dont think its heat soak when its freezing cold mate.
We were wandering round taking pics and those were the only ones we got i'm afraid.
There was some reasonable driving and some comically awfull driving. The guy in the ''untouchable'' stickered 911 had us in hysterics with his ridiculous cornering technique ......
The best car of the day was the white seat ..... With a little more power he would have kicked everyones ****
