Sounds good from our point of view(Markus and myself),but what exactlly is laid on for the kiddies??? I ask this as you state it is a great family day out,I'm sure my two angels would love a blast round the track but they dont have a license yet, much to thier dissapointment!

Whilst trax 2001 is great from our viewpoint, there is, as far as I am aware, nothing for the kids to enjoy, unless someone want's to correct me/us on this point?
I was going to make Trax my first trackday as I *do* want to go on track, regardless of my somewhat aggressive anti-track pro social event type views. However, due to other factors i probably won't be, one of the factors IS that i'd be on track but WTF are the kids going to do?

When I said great family day out I mean it's like any other large motorsport event.
OK, so there's not a lot for very young children to do, but most track days don't even allow under 16's in. As TRAX does, it means that you can at least attend with your children, just as you can at BTCC or F1 events. They can watch the track action, see Silverstone circuit close-up, get a ride round the track with an instructor, helicopter rides, etc.
If you want more family-orientated days then you'll need to look more at the Jap Auto-Extravaganza in Billing, which has boating lakes and funfairs, etc.
On the same note though, what is there specifically for children at the Bentley Wildfowl & Motor Museum?

Cheers chuck, but u forget the play area, climbing frames and stuff over near the railway bit,the walk around the park is good because its informative aswell as pretty,Stef if you had come to the sidc ...i know it was a porsche meet but sidc were their guests so if u had come to the 'sidc'meet there last yaer you would know there is plenty to keep the kids occupied ALL day,and i think you may even like to appologise for being wrong about trax being a 'great FAMILY day out' because it isnt and you are wrong!!!!
Suzy.
Last year, Bentley clashed with an SIDC track day at Donington. I'm sorry, but I personally prefer tracks to ducks
.
However, I'll be sure to tell all the families at TRAX this year that it's not a great family day out and their kids should really be walking in the park feeding ducks, or whatever wildfowl happen to be pondering around at the time!
Seriously though, have a great time there. I promise you that over the summer there will be at least two purely family-orientated days, one is Billing (which really is one of the best family places in the country) and the other of which is still in the pipeline.
I wil of course keep you all informed.

Suzy mate, Trax is a great day out for anyone remotely interested in fast cars or track driving. Alot of car clubs are represented there with a vast array of brilliantly presented exotic and not so exotic cars. I know Calvin would like it. The scoobs are always very well recieved and the SIDC area was probably one of the busiest - the grandstand was standing room only for all 3 sessions - awesome.
I'll go to Trax if I can make it for sure, but I won't be taking the tiny kid as any racetrack isn't the perfect place for em.
Last years Bentley event was last year, the SIDC commitee is completely changed since then and we can't hold these guys responsible for the fact no-one from SIDC showed up. Stef's trying hard to accomodate to evryones needs, but lets face it they are just 6ish guys (and Lisa) and the club is damn big, I truely believe regional organisers are the way to go and meets in pubs etc have been very well represented down south in recent months. lets all be happy and shake hands. I'll see you guys at Bently, I'll see Stef at Trax I expect

Hi guys.
Sorry, I have got everyone's mail, but I'm awaiting some info from the organisers before replying (to save replying twice).
I'll have the info tomorrow and will reply to you all then.
Demand, as expected has been HUGE!
Thanks.

As it's a great day out for families (suits me -- my kids love seeing cars going round a track), do they charge an admission fee for kids?
Dave -- do you think that's why it says 'Trax 2001' at the top? I think you need to check your browser cache settings
