Drift Day!!!
On the rally circuits at Oulton Park.....
Lots of wet slippery shiny polished tarmac to practice drifting on.
Free tuition- from some top drifters- so you shouldn't need to use the excellent run-off space.
Oulton Park are keen to keep the surface well 'lubricated' all day long, so everything takes place at a fairly slow pace, and there's relatively little tyre wear or wear to your drivetrain, engine and clutch.

The cost of a full day is £169, but if you book any other tracksport day this year then you can do the drift day for just £99!

a couple of photos.... and just to prove that you can drift a 2 day old Navara if you have the bottle (and ability )
The BMW's had a mixed day- the 535i (£211) had a fairly serious oil haemmorage (sp?) in the morning but recovered well to put in a stunning performance, the 530i auto threw its near-side rear tyre off twice whilst falling in to a pothole (also hit trees on both sides, but that could have been deliberate ) and the manual 530i didn't miss a beat all day.
One interesting stat from the auto was the average speed for the day- the max speed logged by the on-board computer was 112 mph- wheel speed, not actual speed, which is unlikely to have topped 25mph

Only £99 if you book another track day at the same time. Not sure why on earth you'd want it dry- that just raises the speed and massively increases wear and tear.

Went along to watch today and sure did look good fun. Seeing a huge Volvo estate that sideways was hilarious and the blue Evo certainly had no problems getting it sideways. Will look in to doing one next year in the Scoob.

Yep, loads of fun. I take it you found Mark in the end? We had to break in to the drift bitch eventually as the keys continued to elude us.....

Found Mark tra and was telling me about some of the passenger drift rides he had. Saw you have to break in to the drift bitch as was parked next to it when you done it.

How easy is it to drift the Impreza. You saw my one, it's a 2000 model Classic Turbo 2000 running on 205/50/15 tyres. Can't wait to have a go at this as want to explore the wet weather handling of the car, get it sideways in a controlled safe environment then practice getting it under control and straight again.

TBH it isn't easy to successfully drift an Impreza.
They're easy to get sideways, but are hard to kep sideways, in a 'drift'.
We do, however, provide expert tuition
I was struggling with mine, it went pear-shaped several times. The Evo was (very well) driven by Terry Pankhurst- although he makes it look easy he's a total feckin' legend... do a search on google

I did notice the Evo spent a lot of the time sideways and thought I'd love to try that in my car. I suppose the Evo and Impreza have so much grip that once you do get the sideways they grip again fairly quickly. This is what I want to get used to with my Impreza, so as long as you think I'll get what i want form the session I shall look in to getting on one in the new year.
