Default Some trackdays for early next year....

Sat 22nd Jan Oulton Park £135

Fri 11th Mar Donington £195

All days are open pitlane, with free instruction from a qualified ARDS instructor.

Low numbers, friendly atmosphere etc etc etc...... a great place to spend your christmas money

If the engine is in I would be keen on the Fri 11th March Simon

Is it limited to how many people at all?

We usually run 65 max, plus 5 'arrive and drive' and / or race cars for hot laps, which gives low enough numbers to run open pitlane without traffic.

Will let you have some more info as soon as I have it Jon.

Hope you had a good christmas matey

Ok, so I am no doubt showing my ignorance, but if you don't ask....

What does open pit lane mean?

Cheers!

Some Trackdays have sessions, three 20min sessions in an Hour. Your would be signed into either Red, Blue or Green sessions.

On an Open pit lane Day, you go in or out of the Pits when ever and for as long as you like.

You will need to come in to give your Car and you a well earned rest. Believe me 30 mins of driving/concentration is quite exhausting
IMHO

Definately up for a track day next year, about time I started going to more events and such like. Open pit lane sounds better than the cone deal, I suspect its nice to have the option to stay out longer or come in early knowing you can go back out whenever.

Not sure which one though yet, perhaps a bit cold in Jan to leave the missus and kids waiting for me to come back in?

March could be the best bet. How does the Donnington track compare with Oulton?

Cheers,

MichaelH.

Micheal,
All tracks can be unforgiving going out with an Instructor or someone experienced with the track and will be a god send

I did find some areas quite demanding at Oulton and maybe only the 'Craners Curves' as much so a Donington IMHO slowly build up paceis the way to go

Extra drivers are usually charged at about £20, but depends on the circuit.

Oulton is fairly tight and technical, Donington is more of a 'power' circuit.

Cheers for the advice, certainly don't want to wreck my scoob!

No matter which track I end up trying I'll definatley take it steady to start with till I get a feel for the course. Especially with the kids watching, don't want to scare them to death!

Try not to be over eager to impress; I've seen quite a few 'offs' at corners where the wifey and children are watching daddy (I'm sure some of you know who I'm talking about... )

Had a top day today (I was in Black Sti). Met some friendly people, saw some lovely cars (Orange Lambo!) and had great time out on track - thanks to instruction from Paul O'Neil (no less) who gave me so much confidence in the damp/slippy conditions.

I will be back for more fun when the sun comes out - assuming it does this year.

Optimax, as in the fuel, can be found about three miles from the circuit. Have you booked yet thedogs?

the car looked excellent supertouring, that lip spoiler really sets it off. mine's due to be changed in July, and was thinking of defecting to the dark side. your sti has made me think again though.....

thedogs, I'm a midlander but live up here, so that's nearly the same thing matey
