I'm on at 14:40 too! (session 15 car 2).....

08:00 seems horrendously early.. but as the blurb mentions.. theres the briefing.. noise check etc...

Rich.

A Black Jap WRX (MY99) - with GEMs (ALS!!!!) --- the noise test could also be an issue!

Just in case anyone is interested, i think a lot of cars are meeting at The Crosshands pub at 8:15 and entering castle coombe en masse

Arrrssee!!! - car failed noise check at RallyDay.... so didn't get on to track.

The guy doing the soundcheck was genuinely surprised (so why didn't he re-test!!!?) when he looked at the reading... 109Db !!!!!!!

I think the reading included a ALS bang-Pop as the car was running like abag of sh!te due to horrendous heatsoak...

Never mind... had a great day out..

How did everyone else fair?

PS.
Mental note to myself... don't turn on ALS when youve got a marked Fed car behind you! (doh!)... had them crawling all over my bumper for the next 15 miles!!!!!

Yeah that could have been our car then, S reg, had a camera mount in the back as well as in the front. Although the session was 14.40, Paul never got out until 3.30 ish too.

He probably means he was the first car out on that session

glad about that, thought something was wrong with my car at one stage. that was the first time ive been on coombe - bloody fast circuit - caught me out a few times and its not as wide as im used to.

I think you passed the white astra just before camp - he wouldnt pull over at all, iwas flashing him and indicating bloody muppet i had to nip past him as we were coming out of quarry - by then you had long gone lol.

i seen that focus too - feckin quick

Chris - I was in a Silver MY00 saloon and was at the very front of row 15... Wish they had let our row out first - rather than the other half of the row next to us...
Great fun - but those sessions didnt half seem short !

hi jim

looks like you beat me to it mate. i was watching my footage again and realised it couldnt have been tracey

have you done coombe before or is your car modded, as it seemed to shift pretty well around that track. i was following you until i got held up by the muppet in the white astra - damn fool wouldnt pull over on the straight up to folly, it wasnt until after quarry when i got past.

i have some footage of you then, i will put it up once i get my homepage sorted.

Paul P,

I don't know what is wrong with it then, they play fine for me. That used to happen to me when I used to watch other clips people had made, it's frustrating when it freezes.

Hi Chris

I have done a couple of sessions at Japfest this year around Combe and also did a session at rally day last year, so I know it a little bit.
As far as mods - it has a few mild mods [ full decat, STi filter, rear drop links ] and since my last time of track an adjustable rear ARB and the 18'' wheels. Handles much better for track now, although the cheapo tyres I got with the wheels arent very grippy !

Think I managed to pass quite a few cars - it was so busy out there. The Norris Designs EVO wasnt half shifting !

Would be excellent to see the vid you shot. Couldnt persuade anyone to be passenger, so I missed out on any in car shots this time... Must look for a camera mounting kit

The Norris EVO could have been in the 2nd session I did... Wonder what power he was running on the day - I am sure it has run something like 650BHP before. Those session were so close together it has all become a blur now!

Cheers PAS

Is that the one you are using ?

I did look into these briefly a while ago - but as they were around £80 I didnt really think it was worth it at the time. My camcorder is so small & light I was going to see what else I could come up with..
Typically I never got round to it ! Wish I had now.

Yes that is where we got ours, I did a group buy of 10 and it worked out a little cheaper than usual. We have had very good use out of it. It is worth it
