Does going on a track day effect the warranty on a subaru?

dunno why mate, just having read loads of threads on here its what ive picked up.

you could take your no. plates off or tape em up, but it wont stop them spotting it when you arrive/leave.

ive read threads about IM (& ins companies) visiting trackdays and taking reg no's from cars on the track

i might be talking shyte, but its just what ive read from here.

There was a long thread some time ago about the SIDC day at Donnington where someone got a warranty claim refused. IIRC it turned out the refusal was due to mods on the car rather than going out on track. The warranty does not specifically exclude track days so it is still a bit of a grey area. People asked the SIDC to ask IM directly but it was decided that rather than putting them in a position of yes or no it would be better left to the individual case/person to fight their own corner. I use my car on track and if the engine blew I would want to claim, whether it would be successful probably would be down to the lawyers.

Exclamation

I believe sillysi is correct it was due more to Modifications and not due to being on the Track. IIRC

IM have a 'Abuse clause' in their Warranty schedule.

To drive the car on a Driver improvement day (Trackday) may not be deemed Abuse and Warranty intacked.

Do doughnuts around the Pub car park and may be deemed Abuse Bye-Bye Warranty.

IMHO

Tony agreed abuse not track use,

Three dealers I have used have carried out Warranty work fully
aware that the car is occasionally used on track. Dealers are
Adams, Lancasters and SGT
