I was in a standard looking sliver sti hawkeye. I was mainly doing handling most of the time then did 1/4 for the last hour or so. How did you get on and what car was you in? I was car C38

You were 0.06sec quicker than me

I spent the majority of the morning watching, and then jumped on around 11:30 for my sighting and two timed runs (just started raining so bad judgement of the weather by me), then lunch and queued for my 4th blast which happened to be my last.
I didn't get on the drag as I bust an oil pipe over the turbo creating a little bit of short lived panic, so I parked it up and let it cool whilst we investigated, to then start it up and listen to an horrific noise. First impressions were something sinister so as much as I was concerned about getting home, the back of the brain was adding up the cost of forging it with bolts on's to support 450/450, but it looks like it's only a clutch issue Anyway I managed to nurse the car home and the noise vanished until the next day and the oil leak hasn't re-appeared as yet so I need to force it to leak so I can identify where it is coming from. It might just be a breather pipe blowing oil, but a Catch can and Oil Cooler would be on the list if I was to keep it and run more track days

What shape subaru do you have and spec? I have the 2.5 engine and oil was leaking from my intake system and dripping all over my gearbox and heavy smoke on start up, so the week before totb luckily I managed to get a catch can system fitted and that's cured it! Ahh 0.60 seconds is nothing in the great scheme of things, I was just happy as it was my first time I've ever got to drive a car like that so more than happy where I came

0.06 seconds, not 0.6!!
Mine was the standard looking Red Hatch STI, its running the standard 2.5 lump . Oil looked to be coming from a flange on top of the turbo, but it was spanner tight, so I need to get this off and review the fitting, it might be a knackered washer. We cleaned it off with brake cleaner and water so its spot less, so until it leaks again I don't know where its coming from .
Two years ago I was in an Engine Tuner 2.1 classic running 500bhp, and I have to say I enjoyed this year more than that albeit I didn't manage any 1/4's this year.

Oh hell haha so basically we did the same time lol. Mines a fully forged 2.5 with sc46 turbo on syvecs, map needs tweaking though. I nearly bought a hatch but this came up for sale already modified so couldn't resist. Hmmm you'd think it would be leaking all the time, I'd get a catch can fitted before anything, helped mine no end. My mates run classics and I'm jealous as they weigh a lot less don't they

Did you launch it and give it plenty?
I found that the circuit was good this year, managed to carry some decent speed and get the car to drift nicely, even managed to yank the handbrake to get it back inline at the left hander before the finish after much oversteer!
One point for me this year that paid in dividends was the tyres, they really made a difference.

I've only had the car a month so this was a learning curve for me, I was trying to launch it on the handling but maybe only got it right once. I was giving it all I had on the handling yer. After the handling runs I went on to do my 1/4mile and I seemed to of mastered the launch technique. Did a top speed run also. I was running AD08r's

Straightliners had me on file from previous events where I ran the classic sleeper that everyone said looked like a sport, so that year I entered as a sport! This year I entered late and they didn't alter my details, honest... That's what I'm going with anyway

before someone mentions the kw's. it's alright having the gear but you've still got to be able to drive the thing.... that's what I think anyways lol
