Right guys just want to Clarify something. I've just had some coilovers fitted and setup. They've currently been set with some reverse rake to stop the front dipping and squirming under heavy and high speed braking. My worry is that will this make the car slightly unstable at high speed as I thought they had some positive rake as standard?
Oh and it's a modified 2005 wide track which does some daily duties but also a few track days and possibly some sprinting next year.

Hi there
Depends on the tyres and wheels, are you running wide wheels and tyres etc?
If you running wide wheels and you are cambered coilovers and you have rear end rubbing issue only option is only raise ride height
If you are running standard size or similar size of the wheels/tyres then rake should be as good starting point front higher than rear

Generally speaking the Impreza, both the GC/GF & GD/GG have neutral or slightly positive rake (rear higher). Subaru raised the roll centre of the GD/GG cars, and some the GC's were set with positive rake, including the P1. This dials in a little more rear oversteer
You must also remember the wheel arch gap front & rear is different so if the gaps look the same the car isn't level
So be a bit careful as the relation to the front & rear RC's are affected (as well as front castor) by changing rake angles

Just picked my car up from Chevron today, they set it up with the front slightly higher, but as Bonesetter said - due to the way the arches are cut the car looks like the front is lower than the rear. If measured floor plan - floor, it's not though.
