Default Blobeye WRX 2005

Am I correct in thinking the suspension is different on a 2005 wrx compared with a 2004 wrx?

And would I be able to replace my wrx suspension with the STI springs & dampers from an earlier year (know the 2005 sti suspension will not fit due to the hubs and that being changed to 114.3mm system) and would it be any different, lower etc?

I think you'll find the spring rates for the wagon are different to the saloon, although you may well find that be-cause the STI springs are firmer this is somewhat off-set, may effect the balance a little but I doubt you'd notice, a 24mm rear anti-roll bar and polly bushes would probably even things back out so it handles more like it should.
