Default Widetrack handling mods?

Hello Guys

Just wondering, for a widetrack Sti, are the handling mods the same? Will arbs etc offer any improvement even though the car has the dccd?

I would like to install coilovers, and the Whiteline roll center kit, and Im thinking of leaving it at that.

The ALK, for me on a previous car, I dont really think it did much, apart from make the car dive more under hard braking.

Any members have any thoughts on this?

I have front and rear strut braces. Cdf alk. Cdf 24mm rear adjustable arb standard shocks on prodrive springs.. It's perfect for me. Good enough for fast road but not losing any of the comfort (the little it has)

Thanks Craigyp, the strut braces I had completely overlooked, forgot my car doesnt even come with the front one.

The Prodrive springs, are they the same as the Eibach pro kit available on ebay? Something along these lines http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Imp...item43b4115f7d

Thanks Steve, atthe moment my car will be road only, too scared to go out on the track!!

I will eventually pluck up the courage, I was wondering though, setting the dccd to a more rear wheel drive bias, would that not negate the need for a rear arb?

Or would that make you lose some of the qualities of 4 wheel drive?

Thanks

The prodrive and eibach springs are not the same. Prodrive springs are linear, eibachs are progressive. Ive the eibachs and find them too soft

Look for the red prodrive springs, tho these only drop another 15mm over std sti springs

I've done the following to my widetrack:

CDF Front and Rear ARBS
CDF Front and Rear Solid Droplinks
Prodrive Red Springs
"Nipple Mod" OEM Shocks
Alignment by a Subaru Specialist

The car feels much more surefooted when on the power through and on the exit of bends, when closer to the limit the car also feels more settled - I've not broken traction with it yet but it feels like a more transitional "loss of control" rather than just flipping a switch.

I still feel the car lacks a little bit on steering input and high speed (100+) stability. The steering input feels like I'm having to put far too much lock on, but I guess the only fix to that is a new steering rack (I think I read the Spec C has a higher ratio rack?) although I think I'll try a whiteline (or similar) rack bush swap at somepoint.

The high speed stability is hard to put my finger on, I think it may just be tramlining being magnified as I can't replicate it easily - particularly not considering the speeds involved. It needs some track time to really explore the car at higher speeds before I can comment further!

Put an alk on before you change the rack, for the sake of 150 odd quid you might be surprised
