Default Rear shocks on all classics the same? 1.6 / 1.8 and WRX?

Hello,

I'm interessted in some Kayaba Excel G's as I think they are the same like the original WRX dampers from subaru. I'm driving an Impreza WRX from 1996.

On the KYB Homepage are the rear dampers for each Impreza from 93-00 the same only front ones are different on the WRX. Is this correct?
Why are the rears the same?

KYB gives me only the excel G's no ultra golds?? Which ones were on the STI'S?

Kind regards

Felix

Not sure if the Gold's are available for the GC. The stranger thing is that the AGX is not showing up when you use the European catalog and select Impreza GT. Strange.

To be honest, I would look into getting the adjustable AGX damper over anything else KYB has to offer. Simply because the adjustability is nice to have to tune your suspension as well as compensate for wear over time.

One difference in the part number is some cars had ABS, some did not. So some dampers have an ABS bracket.

Depending on the year STi they either had twin tube or inverted monotube. V5/6 had the red inverted monotube. Everything before that was twin tube.
