Hi All!
Had my 2004 WRX Wagon for a couple of weeks now. Bought it from a dealer "The knock is just the spanner in the boot mate" - yeah, course it is

Anyway, this suspension knock isn't like anything I've ever had before: It's a thunk at low speeds, when manouvering and setting off. On the road the car is absolutely solid, no knocking over speed bumps/potholes or whilst cornering. No odd handling/geometry feeling upset either like I would expect if a shot bush was causing it. Somtimes it's even a bit of a "skronk" as you pull away - almost like a wheel is locking then catching up (but doesn't fell like that, only sounds like it)
Sounds like the rear right to me, but we all know how cars can transmit noises through the shell....
Big concern is that it's a diff or CV joint? Do they go? Could they cause problems? Car is happy and silent at all speeds/corners....

I'm aware of ARB droplinks, but are there any other problems that can give these symptoms? Seems odd that it's moving off, that seems suspension arms rather than ARB to me. Top mount - not sure? that would bang over bumps, surely?

I'm off to a specialist as soon as I can to see what they say, but any ideas gratefully recieved so I can check myself. If it wasn't -6 out there I'd be under it with a torch right now!
