Which Eibach springs for Prodrive/Bilstein dampers??
I want to install my Prodrive/Bilstein dampers to my STi Version 2.
Now i need springs. Does anyone know where i can get the right Eibach Springs for it??
I think the standard Eibach Pro Kit for GC8 springs are too soft, or?

The 'P1' springs (215 lb F and 195 R) are excellent and combined with those dampers provide one of the best suspension solutions for the GC
One option is putting up a wanted ad for a low mileage used set
The Eibach Pro Kit also lowers the car a little too much

Seems odd why Eibach should make such a good spring (P1) and then produce the Pro which 'fails' in all those areas
Maybe it's a patent thing, or just that they are getting on the popular S-Tech wagon
Well, the Pro Kits are designed for the standard Classic dampers. Much, much softer damper than the billies or V5's.
Prodrive does hold licensing on certain things. For example Race Comp Engineering developed some Bilstein Dampers for the new GR hatchback, but could only make them for the 5x100/WRX fitment, not STi. Prodrive, I think, held the licensing contract with Bilstein for the 5x114.5 STi fitment dampers, so RCE weren't allowed to develop theirs. RCE is, however, developing Bilstein dampers to work with their own springs for the GD! I'm very excited about those as RCE are very chassis minded and pay very little lip service to aesthetics. It will be 04-07 STi fitment. That means 5x100 and 114.5. Yes! I need to talk to them and see if they are willing to ship some sets back out here as there is a serious lack of fixed perch damper options.

Here's a pic of a Bilstein next to the WRX damper
Of course, what seems like a large diameter damper rod, is actually the damper body, upside down in the casing on this inverted later and better design.
The actual damper rod is 12 or 14 mm, bolted to the bottom of the casing.

Don't know if you have received these springs yet, but I would be interested to know how tall they are uncompressed (free length) please.
Also, does anyone know if there are customs/tax costs to pay when ordering items from JApan for shipping into the UK?
Rgds, Ade
How did these springs work out once fitted. What sort of drop did they give and whats the rear end like, good or bouncy ?, as after something for my Billies and the Tein's really don't work on the billies.
Try n find a set of the blue prodrive (made by eibach) springs for classic they only drop 25mm and perfect on uk roads. Wish i could find similar for my hawk, the eibach pro kit i have is too soft
but i think main reason is they are a progressive spring. Prodrive & sti springs are linear. I used kyb shocks on the classic

My old classic had these too but sat lower?
Also can anyone help with a slight uneven ride height issue i have? the front drivers side seems around 5mm higher than the passenger side?
And, what top mounts are people using with the bilstein dampers? I've had to reuse my standard my99 rear shock top mounts which i'm assuming was ok? don't have any knocks etc?
Ive just fitted a full set of prodrive bilsteins with the blue eibach prings to my 99 uk turbo and it does sit a 'tiny' bit higher than yours in the pic?

How long have the springs been in? Mine took a couple of weeks to settle. I used kyb mounts on front and new oe mounts on rears (got them on us ebay for 35 delivered)
I assume the spring caps where aligned correctly when refitting? The dimple on spring cap needs to be in line with shock mounting bracket
Am tempted to go with the STi Pinks, rated at 222lb/ft Front and 182lb/ft Rear, which is as close to the Prodrive setup as you can get.
Although the rears are not a lot more then the Tein's @ 179lb/ft but I think the Teins are progressive from 61lb/ft - 179lb/ft which would make a huge difference.

www.Japanparts.com also offer a -30mm version of the STI Pink
STI: COIL SPRING (FRONT) 34, -30 : ST2040055060
STI: COIL SPRING (REAR) 30, -30 : ST2230055100

Ive only had the rears on a day as they've just come back from bilstein, had the fronts on two weeks, here's both sides of the car

Top mounts were already fitted to the fronts and I used the rears from my standard uk shocks, I used the lower rubber pad seats on the rear springs but not on the front though

I've managed to get hold of a old friend of mine who I've not spoken two for a couple of years. I remembered he took me out in his scooby years ago went round a roundabout like his car was on rails. He's going to check my car over for me next week at his garage. So fingers crossed will be sorted soon.
