Hi all,

just after a bit of advice with regards to stiffening the car up a bit to improve cornering and give a better feel to the steering.

Im planning on fitting some coilovers after the winter, possibly BC's but what else is out there that helps?

Ive seen the upper and lower strut braces on ebay, what do yuo think of these? Those who have fitted them, did it make a noticeable difference?
On my previous fiesta the lower brace made the world of difference, but the top not so much. More for the look if anything.

Also polybushes i guess make a nice difference?

Ive also seen droplinks about aswell, what exactly are these? just a hard compound replacement for whats there standard?

Finally, ive seen a few people mention in their adverts that there car has an 'anti lift kit' fitted, which i assume means less lift pulling away or changing gear. What actually is this?

Anything else out there worth mentioning? anti roll bars etc?

I have front and rear strut braces but didn't notice much difference.
However, fitting whiteline rear anti-roll bar and alloy droplinks made a huge difference. Eliminated a lot of body roll especially on stiffest setting and feels a lot more planted in the corners.
Anti-lift kit is next on the handling shopping list. Its supposed to stop the front end lifting up under acceleration but more noticeably stops it diving under braking. I've heard good things about ALKs.

I have an ALK kit on my STIMY06 and it made the world of difference coil overs are my next stop.

Rear adjustable arb should be the first step. See how that performs. It can transform a standard car to a level where nothing else is needed. My STi's (New Age & classic) have both been happy with just this set-up for fast road use.

On the 'weekender' Type R, I use more stiffening with a front arb too. But I have kept the strut & spring set-up over getting coilovers as the former are preferred for road use

You mentioned you were looking at BC. I have them and they are amazing. best suspension setup that I have had on a car to date. Worth every penny. You wouldn't happen to be buying them from scoobyworld r u. They just droped the price so its an even better time to get them lol.

alk,rear 24mm arb,front 22mm arb,rear drop links,rear heavy duty mounts,roll centre kit and coilovers ,could add steering rack bushings
if You wish spend more front and rear struts
do it in one stage with alingment.

If you are fitting coil-overs, don't go mad with the rear ARB... They can transform a soft std car, but coil-overs will reduce the roll anyway, thus the ARB is more for fine tuning, IMHO.

ALK is pricey but good and avoid rose-jointed drop-links in this lovely weather...

I will go for a whiteline arb and solid droplinks to start me off.
Ive seen the droplinks on ebay but is there anywhere else that sell these?

i know scoobyworld sell them as a handling pack with polybushes but this may be a bit much for now.

Nossy, yes i have seen the reduced price for the coilies on scoobyworld so will probably buy from them, unless they are cheaper elsewhere?

Got them on the car before the price reduction. So not sure if they are cheaper. Mind you if you do get them from scoobyworld they have the extended adjusters for the rear shocks included for free.
