Default wrx300 shocks HELPPP

Any help would be great, we've taken car to garage because we have a knocking in the rear drivers side which we've been told is the shock but seem to be having trouble sourcing replacement ones, the garage did try and fit some which they supplied using the reg. no. but they didn't seem to fit properly because the pistons were to small they tried three different types don't really want to go to the expense of buying ones from the dealer because they want over £300 each.
Any body with any ideas would be great.

Try Camskill or Eurocarparts.
The noise does not affect the car's handing, so you should be fine waiting for replacement parts at a sensible price. Bob

From what I've read on here I'm lead to believe the replacements shocks will eventually knock again. The only permanent fix is the expensive coilovers correct me if I'm wrong.

I replaced my original dampers at 11k under warranty. Now at 39k and not knocking.

had the same problem on my hawkeye wrx. Ordered a set of KYB rears (KYB manufacture the Subaru originals) from the guys at scoobyparts. Only cost 150 quid and they are different in design to the oe equipment so there's no knocking!
