Default BC coilovers rear knocking fix.

For those with rear knocking issues with pillowball rear top mounts...
I called Apex yesterday about the new rear top mounts, and they sent me the new rubber top mounts and springs next day.
Fitted them this morning (2003 sti) and the rear knocking and general noises have gone, even on a road where they used to knock badly.
As a heads up - Apex are selling these top mounts and springs as a kit, and for early adopters like myself at a rather good reduced price.

I paid £45.02 for springs, topmounts and collars as a kit.
I would phone to see if this offer is still available.

Recently had mine fitted, hope they continue to behave! All good up to now! Originally they were all set to 15 dampness 'to hard'! Now running them all at 25, much better for general road use!

I know that mine are pillowball top mounts, and are knocking like hell.

Is the fix available for a classic do you know Dave, is the unit the same or similar?

You could also try tightening the top nut on the strut mount. Those tend to work themselves loose. And it doesn't take much for it to resonate as a loud knock through the car. Also, make sure you have the proper preload on your springs, that can also cause knocking noises (usually if there isn't enough).

I assume you mean 25 clicks back from MAX. damping?
At the moment I have mine set to 10 front and 8 rear from MIN. damping.
Maybe, when comparing settings, we should standardise from which end we start?

I would call Bren at Apex, I didnt think the classics had the same issues as the noisy newage rear suspension setup.

when you mean knocking is it like a creak/knocking noise most noticeble at low speeds, going over speed humps and potholes its very quiet but its very small movements at low speed and you can feel it as wellor pushing the body down on that corner, its the nearside rear on mine
