Looking to buy some coilover suspension shortly. Car is a classic sti ra and use is 50% track 50% road use. I have 3 brands in mind and would like feedback from those that have them on what they think. It will be bad to compare as not many will have had all three.

So my options are:

Revolutions own coilover kit

HSD coilovers

BC Racing BR series coilovers

Or to through a spanner in the works, recommend a shock and spring combination as I'm not bothered about all the adjustments as long as it works. It doesn't even bother me about a lower ride height TBH.

Any feedback appreciated.

I've just fitted HSD HR suspension to mine. So far i'm real happy altho i did find this:



The camber adjustment on the rear has more space for movement but the chassis won't allow it due to the fit of the HSD HR suspension.

Although it doesn't need to go all the way over and if it does camber bolts.

I've heard loads of knocking issues with BC so never got them.

No idea about the Revolutions kit.

i bought apex coilovers for a 97 type r which I will only really use on the track. got cold feet afterwards cos they are cheap, but spoke to Apex about it and they reassured me they would be fine for track use. not actually put them on yet though. thought the knocking issues on BC's was more on the newage cars, not the classics.

I had Tein ss on my P1 which I used on track. I thought they were great. You've also got GAZ golds, Spax SSX, D2 for around the £600-£800 mark.

Do EXE-TC still do the fast road kit? Couldn't find it on their website and I'd heard rumblings they were going to discontinue producing non-circult based suspension.

No, Exe-tc have stopped production of the Fast road kit.

Which is a shame because it's an awesome set up..!

I used a set of BC Inverted RM series on my RA last year in the Scottish Hillclimb and sprint championship and they were pretty good. I am upgrading this year so they will be off soon if your interested, they are much better than the BR series and I have a selection of spring rates. They are virtually as new as the car has done around 40 road miles in the last 18 months and is trailered to and from events and have not been subjected to thousands of miles of pot hole infested roads. Definately a good compromise for track and road use.

They still list them and have not officially stopped production but think you would be hard pushed to get them to make you a set.
