Default Help, whats that progressively worse nocking?

Not knowing much about mechanics can someone help me identify a knocking noise. I suspect it may be the left front shock as there was a slight nocking noise when braking which has now developed in to a full blown nocking almost rattle whenever my front left wheel goes over a bump.

It is a 56 plate Hawkeye with only 20,000miles so am disappointed that something like this would have happen already.

Close. My front caliper was about to fall off

It was just one of those things and not related to Subaru or their parts just physics and being unfortunate. The holding pin had rattled free.

That is a shock (excuse the pun) but when I bought it I thought I was buying a good chassis, engine, steering and suspension set up at the expense of a rubbish interior and creature comforts. As I have been searching I am really disappointed to find out how poor these are and how much Subaru charge for new ones, especially as there are no other places that stock Hawkeye ones.

Arent yours Teins anyway?

No I have standard shocks but with Prodrive springs, Your are right Subaru have really messed up with the new-age suspension, The hawk-eye set up is terrible its so crashy I actually found the Prodrive springs slightly better in ride quality but not a lot. It would be nice to find another manufacturer that does shocks for the hawkeye to see if they could improve (which cant be hard). I didn't want to go down the coil over route as I think it would be to firm and so much money after fitting and set up.

Have you researched the (failing head gaskets) on the 2006-2007 yet???
