Shock absorbers life expectancy?
I've finally decided to go down the Tein S Tec route for lowering my car as it's a relatively cheap way of getting the look i'm after, but i'm wondering what the life expectancy of the standard (WRX) shocks are? Mine are currently 6 years old and have seen 48k, but i've got no issues with them at the moment. Will the springs kill these off, should I replace them at the same time?

My shocks only got replaced cus i had the Eibach coilovers fitted. They had done 94k miles, BUT the garage did say one of them was a little suspect once off the car.
I noticed nothing though. The problem is the cost of new shocks. Even at www.camskill.co.uk prices the sets they sell of say the KYB shocks that most go for are not cheap and factor in the springs too, may well be worth just buying BC coilovers pal.
No end sold on here, all the Subaru 'specialists' now sell and fit them and they are only £650 ish. New springs and shocks will not be far off that I reckon.
Even RCM sell and fit BC's now as so many people have had them done!
Just imho.
Just in case you are wondering why i went Eibach, I didn't want unlimited adjustment as I know I would never be happy and always playing, and the Eibachs although not cheap are only height adjustable.
Take my 03 WRX as an example, http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.p...0b0s2713p30307 gives you the price, then you got springs as well!
