are the 2002 sti anti roll bars the same as later version Sti?

I bought a set of Cusco anti roll bars and the rear bar appears to be larger than stock!
Stock bar is linked to mounting brackets internally... Cusco bar (that is larger) will fit only linked externally to mounting brakets. It's normal this?
