Default Hand brake adjusters

What is the best tool to use to adjust the handbrake shoes? Is there some special bit of bent metal to do it?

There seems to be very little space to get a screwdriver in to back them off.

I can wind them up with a screwdriver but everything seems to be in the way to back them off again.

Thanks.

That seems to me to be an excellent idea, thanks.

I will give it a try once I get some.
