As above really, i know its been mentioned before but was wondering if there has been/is any plans to make/design an 'EDFC' type controller for the the BC coilovers.

Would be relatively easy to alter the Tein gear to work, but I don't know how many "clicks" are needed from "soft" to "hard", on the different systems, or how many degrees of rotation each "click" is either.

BC Racing are looking at developing an EDFC type system in the future but they have no set date as yet

 

thanks for replying Bren. I was thinking the same dunx, i thought that the BC's have twice the amount of clicks/turns to the teins, so wether the motors on the edfc would turn too far/not enough might be an issue. I think best case you would end up with (with the edfc attached) is maybe being able to turn the Bc's in say 2, 4, 6, 8 etc clicks as apposed to 1, 2, 3, 4 if you get what i mean .

But if as Bren says there is likely to be something made for the Bc's then it sounds like a bit of hassle as its not that difficult to adjust them as i have the extenders on the rears.

Its not the number of clicks thats important, its the total number of rotations that the adjuster **** goes through to travel from full soft to full hard. If Teins go through 3 full rotations and BC Racing 2 then youll have an issue with the motor trying to force the BC adjuster farther than it wasnt to go. Vis versa, if the Teins turn 2 full turns and BC Racing 3 full turns then youll never cover the full range of damping adjustment available with the BC Racing.

Thats ignoring the fundimental problem and mounting the EDFC motors to the BC racing damper unit in the first place.

 

That would just be a case of only using settings from 4 to 16 as an example...

Angular displacement per click is the detail needed, just a steeper motor controller really. Any decent HND/B.Eng. should be able to sort it

E.G. Tein four full turns from soft to hard....

BC / Apex three full turns, so only use part of the range available.... like first to fourth gears out of six, GEDDIT NAH ?

Your right, its not that hard to build urself a little in car adjuster for any top adjustables

 

No, as Bren said the really difficult bit is attaching the motors in the first place....

And the TEIN controller has a "lock" function....
