Default coil wrap

i have had to get new springs and dampers after failure. i have changed springs and dampers quite a few times before so no probs there. sometimes depending on make of spring i have had clonking before. the springs ive purchased are eibachs so should be a good match but just to be sure i think i shall use coil wrap and do the job once/ properly.

what size coil wrap do people use? 10-13mm or 13-18mm. i have measured an old standard spring and they seem 13mm thick.

secondly where do you place it? around closest wound coils or at end that sits in strut housing.

thanks in advance
