At the moment the blackbeast is sitting rather low on it's Bridgestone Potenza Damper for Street Limited Edition suspension. It's nice, maybe a bit too firm for my liking, plus it is very low!
I'm thinking about thinking about changing it, but to what?
AVO? Bilstien? Spax? Leda? Apex? HKS?
I guess I'm after a comprimise between rock hard and normal suspension, maybe adjustable would be a good bet?
I do like the current suspension, as it's unique (you tell me someone else who has it! ) but it being so low can be annoying at times.
advice please

As a different angle on modding your car, consider the following that if you add suspension, big brakes, big wheels and a link ECU your up to approx £5k of mods. Take this and add it to the sale price of your current MY94 WRX and you could upgrade to a newer car with better brakes, wheels, suspension, interior and more power as standard.

Give it a week or 2 and then start modding that

interesting theory frisby,
and true too.
I went from modded 96 wrx to 22B.
Big mistake. Much expenditure on 22B later and I am still planning next mod.
btw, suspension and brakes are never that good as standard.

Markus, i've had SPAX before, don't rate em, always found them either hard or soft with not a lot in between - yes they were adjustable. Have also had Bilsteins and they were fannytastic mate (not cheap, but you know how the saying goes)

A lot of people rate the Bilsteins - I was lucky enough to have my GAB suspension offered to me, so I decided to have the GAB fitted and I quite like it.
Note: all the Jpanese suspension tends to go from very hard to rock hard settings
So if you dislike a really firm ride I would advise against any of the Jap stuff.
Again I have heard from people who don't rate the Spax and people who say the Leda is quite good.
Cheers

Most coilovers go from very hard to rock hard. Worse if you have a helper spring it will be very very chattery at the rear.
If you're looking for a good daily drive then I think regular (or STI) shocks with Eibach springs will be the way to go.
