Question Initial ride hight, AST coilovers

Before I drop the car down after installing AST coilovers (sportline I), can someone please give me an initial setting (e.g. measure from the bottom of the threaded section up to the adjuster ring), front and rear?

This will save me sometime lifting and dropping the car numerous times to get the initial ride height sorted.

I know this may sound stupid but bear with me!

We set the ride height on my AST's simply to make sure i could get my small hydraulic jack under the front crossmember!

I jack the car up a lot to change wheels from road to hillclimb and getting the jack under easy every time was a very important prctical way forward.

This left the lower front suspension wishbones parallel to the road surface.

The rear was then leveled to the front + 5mm, giving a slight rake (nose down).

The rear springs (50/40 and 60/50 ) settled more it seemed to me than the fronts(!) so the car came 'horizontal' in the end.

You need to consider the angle of the drive shafts too.

Matbe not much help, but another take on the question.
If you want I can measure the spring collar (adjustable one) on my car set as above with 50/40 springs on as a starting point for you.

Graham.
