Default Tramlining on 06 STi

Has anyone with an 06 STi had just the tracking checked and adjusted to successfully reduce the tramling you get with these cars? I checked with the dealer and was told it was within limits.

When I test drove an STi I was aware of the tramlining but did not think it too bad. Now I have an 06 and I find it very tiring and potentially dangerous in tight situations.

Subaru alignment tolerances are huge and allow the dealers to do next to nothing to get "within limits". Go to a specialist and have it done properly. (Scoobyclinic, TSL, Powerstation and the likes).

What tyres have you got?
Not 070's by any chance. I had these and the tramlining became more noticable with tyre wear.
I found the fitment of Michelin PS2's to be a good solution.
I had prodrive allignment settings with the 070's and still had a lot of tramlining, so I don't know if allignment is the issue. Dialled out heaps of understeer however!
On the safety issue, it certainly makes you keep two hands on the wheel!

Add some air to the tyres, this will help loads. In my 17's I run 36psi front and 34psi rear and recommended by Whiteline.

It's definitely the RE-070 tyres that are at fault. Very firm sidewalls mean they follow every camber change in the road.

Prodrive springs will help a lot, as they seem to smooth out a lor of the minor bumps on the road, so you'll get much less pulling.

The re070's do this, I fitted some on my 03sti and it tramlined more than before-great tyres but abit extreme. Got some michelin ps2's now and the tramlining has all but gone, simulat grip though.
