Default AST Sportline 1 setup question

I am currently running AST Sportlines 1s with 5k front / 3k rear springs on a New Age blob eye. Currently the dampening is set at 5f/4r clicks. While driving around town I encountered a sweeping left turn with a serious bump midway through. At 45mph the car made a quick hop with a solid thump in the rear and started to come around just a little. It felt and sounded like the suspension bottomed out. Should I be looking to up the dampening in the rear, since I have the 3k springs back there, should I look to lessen the dampening, or should I be looking to get a 4k spring to ensure that the struts don't bottom out?

I'm using ASTs 50F/40R on an STI blobeye and have found that 7 clicks front/5 clicks rear gives beautiful handling. The car is glued to even the bumpiest road at high speed. You just need to experiment a bit

Totally agree!
I don't know why AST are sending units with 50/30 springs.

50/40 in a classic is just that bit harder due to slight weight advantage, and are just great.

Lunar Tick,

Are you running the tender/helper springs in the rear?

The helper springs only keep the main spring in contact with the top/bottom seat collars when the suspension is at full droop/extension.
They collaps fully solid very quickly when the suspension is taking-up the car weight.

I was just asking because I saw that he also has an 05 STi. I am having a little clearance problem in the back at stock camber settings of -1.6 degrees. I'm currently running -1.1 degrees.
